Six Blue Jays were hanging around at Whitman High School for practice Saturday, September 25. George Roggie, William Amorosi, Ethan Yu, Braden Poon, Jake Schuman and John Wyatt had fun, did their best and demonstrated terrific sportsmanship toward one another!
Saturday, September 25 Practice Report
Batting practice began with a bang, courtesy of George Roggie. George delivered ground balls and line drives to right field and center field. He looked like he's ready for Sunday's game!

John Wyatt continued to swing a hot bat in Saturday's practice. John rocketed several shots to the outfield. His consistency and power seem to increase with every swing!

William Amorosi is a slugger in the making! He hit multiple line drives through the middle of the infield. In his final at-bat, William delivered one of the best hits of the afternoon, a line shot that might still be rolling through center field!

Jake Schuman appears to be appropriately pleased with his performance at the plate. Jake crushed several line drives to right field. His smooth swing is a beautiful sight to behold!

Braden Poon seems to hit the ball harder with each at-bat! In Saturday's practice, Braden routinely pounded line drives to right field. In his final trip to the plate, Braden smacked a towering blast that reached the center field grass on the fly!

Ethan Yu continued to demonstrate impressive power in the batter's box. Ethan chopped hot grounders to the left side of the infield during batting practice. His last hit, a hot smash through the hole between shortstop and third base, was fantastic!
Teamwork in the Field
The Blue Jays are coming together and working as a team in the field. Above, John Wyatt reaches out at 1st base and grabs a terrific throw from Jake Schuman.

Here, Braden Poon provides a terrific target for his teammates at 1st base.

William Amorosi did a great job during fielding practice. He aggressively chased down grounders and seized every opportunity to make a play! Above, William does a great keeping the ball in front of him. William also caught his first two fly balls during the pop-fly drill. Congratulations, William!

Here, Ethan Yu demonstrates his heads-up fielding position at shortstop. Ethan did a great job tracking down grounders and throwing the ball to first base. He played well at every position!

George Roggie was excellent with the glove. Here, George finishes an accurate throw to 1st base after stopping a ground ball. George does a great job taking a second to see his teammate and line up his throw before he releases the ball!

Check out John's outstanding mechanics in the photo above. Is it any wonder that his throws are consistently going where he wants them to go?

Jake Schuman contributed more than one catch during the Blue Jays' pop-up drill. The players decided that practice would end only after they caught 15 fly balls.

They needed only five minutes to get the job done!
Great job, Blue Jays!
Catch of the Day
The players weren't the only ones who caught the ball in Saturday's practice. Many thanks to Mark Amorosi for catching Coach Steve's errant pitches!
Game Day!The Blue Jays will play the Phillies Sunday, September 26 at 4:00pm at
Westbrook Elementary School. Please do your best to arrive at 3:30 so that we can warm up, arrange the batting order and establish our fielding positions for the 1st inning.
We will be in the field first because we are the home team. We are hopeful that the
game time forecast will continue to improve.
Thanks to Marie and Sean Frazier for volunteering to bring the snacks. Thanks also to Maria and Phil Pearl for agreeing to bring the drinks!
Go Blue Jays!Let's have fun, do our best, and demonstrate great sportsmanship in our game with the Phillies!
