Nothing brightens a cloudy day like another fantastic performance on the baseball field. That's exactly what the Blue Jays delivered Sunday, September 26 in their game with the Phillies!
The whole team had fun, did its best, and demonstrated great sportsmanship. Congratulations, Blue Jays!
September 26 Game Report
John Wyatt did a fantastic job in his first game with the Blue Jays. Here, John focuses on the batter from his 3rd base position. That's exactly how you're supposed to do it! John also played well at 1st base in the final inning.

John enjoyed tremendous success with the bat, too! Here, John watches the ball and gets ready to pound one of his three great hits. John crushed two hot shots to the right of 2nd base and drove in numerous runs for the Blue Jays!

Jeremy Robertson picked up where he left off last week, socking three great hits in the game with the Phillies. Jeremy is an outstanding contact hitter. He makes good things happen very quickly whenever he steps to the plate!

Jeremy's hits allow him to demonstrate his outstanding speed while running the bases. Above, he gets some sage advice from the 1st base coach. Jeremy also made a terrific play in the field, snatching a ground ball at right shortstop and throwing to Braden Poon at 1st base for an out!

Braden is always a cool customer with the glove. In the game with the Phillies, he caught a high fly ball in the air for an out in the first inning! He also did a great job giving his teammates a solid target at 1st base

Braden is also increasing his productivity at the plate. Here, he receives congratulations for one of two line drives that he hit to the outfield. We suggest that fielders take a few steps back whenever this guy is up to bat!

Aleka Frazier is a great hitter and a phenomenal athlete! Here, Aleka prepares to smash one of three singles that she collected Sunday afternoon. Once, Aleka was safe at 1st base because she turned on the jets, running as fast as she could and just beating the throw! That's terrific hustle!

Aleka's determined running and great speed helped her score runs for the Blue Jays. She also added a fine play in the field, stopping a hard hit in the outfield in the second inning. Aleka had a great game!

Justin Conner is another Blue Jay who is ferocious on the base paths. Above, Justin leans toward 3rd base while he waits for a teammate to hit. Justin also provided a highlight in the field, scooping up a ground ball and stepping on 2nd base for a force out in the first inning.

Justin also provided some offensive fireworks. His shot to shortstop in the second inning and his hot smash to right field in the final stanza allowed his teammates to score valuable runs!

William Amorosi hit second in the batting order and set the table for three big offensive innings. Another fantastic contact hitter, William sent three solid grounders through the middle of the infield. The ball seemed to be jumping off of his bat!

Another burner on the base paths, William uses his outstanding speed in the photo above to advance to 3rd base. William's fleet feet allow him to routinely reach base before the throws arrive. William also did a fine job in the field, stopping a well hit ground ball at right pitcher's helper.

Ava Curley swung a hot bat in the game with the Phillies. Above, Ava smacks a ground ball to the shortstop. She reached base safely in all three trips to the plate. That's fantastic consistency!

Above, Ava scores the Blue Jays' final run of the game in the third inning. Ava really hustles when she runs the bases. Notice that she makes sure she steps on the plate so that the run will count. Now, that's smart baseball!

Ethan Yu was terrific in Sunday's game. Above, Ethan does a great job keeping his eyes on the ball. Ethan hit a tough bouncer to the left side of the infield in the second inning. In his final at-bat, he scorched a grounder between 1st base and 2nd base.

Ethan broke in a new mitt in Sunday's game. He didn't take long to demonstrate that he knows how to use it! Playing the right pitcher's helper position for the very fist time, Ethan aggressively grabbed a grounder that was rolling down the 1st base line. He collected himself and delivered a fine throw to 1st base. That was a terrific play!

Michael Hardie is a fearless slugger for the Blue Jays. In Sunday's game, Michael smashed two hot shots to shortstop. He also pounded a grounder to 1st base that allowed his teammates to move into scoring position. That's called "advancing the runners." Nobody does it better than Michael!

Michael also made a very smart play in the field. Playing 3rd base in the first inning, Michael just barely missed a pop fly. He then picked the ball up and threw to 1st base to try to get the runner out. Michael did everything that he was supposed to do on that play. Great thinking, Michael!

George Roggie continues to collect put-outs in bunches! Early in the first inning, George fielded a ground ball near the first base line and outran the base runner to get the out. Later, George tagged out a runner who was trying to score.

George insisted on taking some extra batting practice prior to the game. Apparently, he knew what he was doing! Batting in the lead-off position, George stroked three beautiful hits and scored in each inning.

Above, Jake Schuman smiles after delivering one of the best hits of the day! Jake worked hard to convince Coach Steve to let him use Braden's bat. Jake was right. He used that bat to belt a piercing line drive to right field!

Jake did a fine job in the field, as well. He played very well at 2nd base in the 1st inning. Jake very nearly caught a fly ball at left pitcher's helper in the third inning. He also threw the ball well to his teammates.

As usual, Suzanne Pearl was fantastic with the glove! In the first inning, Suzanne calmly collected a hard ground ball at the right shortstop position. Suzanne does a great job keeping the ball in front of her and getting her mitt down low.

Suzanne crushed some wicked hits, as well. Her line shot past the pitcher's helper finished off a great second inning for the Blue Jays. Her final hit of the day, a liner through the right side of the infield, drove home two big runs!
Blue Jays are Great Sports!
Afterward, the Blue Jays once again demonstrated great sportsmanship, congratulating the Phillies for a fun and entertaining game!
Helping Hands
We were pleased to have Kevin Conner, Justin's dad, coaching 1st base. He provided excellent advice and counsel to the Blue Jays' base runners. Thanks, Kevin!

Tom Yu, Ethan's dad, switched positions this week from 1st base coach to 3rd base coach. We are happy to report that he performs splendidly no matter where he lines up. Thanks, Tom!

The handsome young man standing behind home plate in the photo above is Landon Poon, Braden's big brother. Landon was in fine form in the game with the Phillies, catching for the team and delivering accurate throws back to the pitcher. Thank you, Landon!
Thanks also to the Frazier Family and the Pearl Family for providing the postgame snacks and drinks. They were consumed with great pleasure and gratitude!
Another Great Game!
Congratulations, Blue Jays! We're already excited to see all of you again at practice next Saturday!
Coach Steve
