Blue Jays 16, Giants 3

After enduring a grueling fielding and base running practice on Friday afternoon, the Blue Jays responded by taking their overall game to another level on Sunday, May 16, at Fleming Park.

Five pitchers struck out nine and combined to allow just four hits and six walks in six innings of work.  For the second consecutive week, the Blue Jays completed seven put-outs with only one error.  The coach was especially impressed with the way everyone aggressively charged the ball.

Hitting and base running were better than ever!  The Blue Jays crushed a season-high 17 hits, including ten extra-base hits, and struck out just once.  The five-run rule had to be employed to stop the Blue Jays in the first and third innings.  The final score was Blue Jays 16, Giants (Locaria) 3.

Rematch Season

Our remaining games are rematches.  The Blue Jays will need to dig deep and not let their guard down.

First up, the Mets, whose coach (pictured behind Cuyler above) talked a little trash prior to the season opener and subsequently left the field without so much as a tip of the cap after the Blue Jays won.

We are quite confident that the Mets will be motivated and ready to play next Sunday!

Coach Steve
