Baseball Enthusiasts at Play!

Two Blue Jays - Jeremy Robertson and George Roggie - were joined by honorary ball boy Josef Robertson at practice Sunday, April 24 at Westbrook Elementary School.

Jeremy and George had fun and played very well. Josef contributed by shagging balls and throwing them back to the coach. Thanks, Josef!

April 24 Practice Report

George and Jeremy worked up quite a thirst during fielding practice. Jeremy stopped lots of ground balls at right pitcher's helper and at right shortstop. George handled 1st base with typical aplomb.

When it was time to hit, these guys were ready!

Jeremy made quick work of Coach Steve's pitches, crushing several ground balls through the left side of the infield.

George smashed grounders and line drives to right field during the "coach pitch" portion of batting practice.

Then it was time to try the Blue Flame!

Let's just say that George and Jeremy were hitting machines when they practiced with the pitching machine!

George whacked hits in every direction. He hit fly balls, line drives and grounders. Most of them traveled to the outfield!

Jeremy improved noticeably with every swing. Initially, he hit liners and grounders to right field. Later, he adjusted nicely to the increased speed of the pitches, bopping grounders and line drives to left field. Jeremy enjoyed the best batting practice of his young career!

Great practice, Blue Jays!

We'll see everybody next week!

Coach Steve
