Blue Jays stand tall in game with Giants!

Good things happen when you have fun, do your best, and demonstrate great sportsmanship! The Blue Jays' sterling performance in their game with the Giants Sunday, September 19 should be all the proof you need!

Every player contributed to this outstanding team effort. Congratulations to everyone!

September 19 Game Report

Braden Poon was a smooth operator in the infield. Above, Braden beats the runner to 1st base for an unassisted out in the second inning. Braden had already thrown a perfect strike to Jake Schuman at 3rd base to get an out in the first inning. Braden is a terrific teammate who did a great job all afternoon!

Jake Schuman had a very productive afternoon in the field, getting involved in four put-outs! Here, Jake steps on 1st base long before the runner arrives. In the third inning, Jake fielded the ball at the right pitcher's helper position and forced the runner out at 1st base. In the second inning, Jake collected a throw at 1st base from George Roggie to gather another assist. For good measure, Jake added an unassisted force out at 2nd base in the final inning. This young man had a busy afternoon!

George Roggie displayed a golden glove in the field in the game with the Giants! Above, George gets the Blue Jays off to a great start in the first inning, fielding a soft grounder and beating the runner to 1st base for an unassisted put-out. George also collected a force out at home plate from the right pitcher's helper position in the second inning.

Sam Berman did a terrific job at 1st base in the third inning. Here, Sam taps his toe to the bag just in time to beat the runner for an out! Later, Sam added yet another unassisted out at first base. He had a great game!

Michael Hardie gave the standing room-only Blue Jays crowd an early highlight when he reached up and snatched a fly ball out of the air at the left pitcher's helper position in the first inning. Michael has now caught a fly ball in two consecutive games. Congratulations, Michael!

Jeremy Robertson enjoyed a very memorable afternoon. Above, Jeremy beams after snagging a bouncing ball and stepping on third base for an unassisted force out in the 3rd inning. Jeremy's great play brought the fans to their feet!

Nobody fields ground balls more consistently than Suzanne Pearl. Above, Suzanne shows us her picture-perfect form! Later, she put her skills to good use, stopping a scorching ground ball in right field. Suzanne is a human vacuum!

William Amorosi's first game with the Blue Jays was a rousing success! Above, William cleanly fields a tough ground ball. William made a great stop in the outfield that prevented the Giants from scoring a run!

Aleka Frazier is a dual threat for the Blue Jays. No matter whether she's wearing a batting helmet or a mitt, she's always tough! Aleka made a great stop of a hard hit to right field in Sunday's game with the Giants.

Ethan Yu was so excited about the Blue Jays opening game that he arrived before 2pm so that he could scout the other teams! When it came time to get down to business, he was up to the task. Ethan made a great play on a ground ball at shortstop in the third inning. He also showed great hustle, chasing down fly balls along the left field foul line.

Above, Ava Curley is chased home by teammate Justin Conner. Ava did plenty of chasing of her own in the field. She tracked down hard hits in left field and returned the ball to the infield to prevent runs from scoring.

In the photo above, Justin puts the perfect finishing touch on the game, stepping on first base to make an unassisted out from the right pitcher's helper position. Teammate Sam Berman was clearly impressed with Justin's fine play!

Blue Jays Bang Big Hits!

The Blue Jays applied what they learned in batting practice in Sunday's opening game. Above, William Amorosi prepares to sock a hot grounder through the infield. William made great contact in each trip to the plate!

Aleka Frazier used a big stick and great speed to reach base safely in each of her three at-bats. She also scored three big runs for the Blue Jays!

Michael Hardie packed a powerful bat in Sunday's game. Michael sent a searing ground ball up the middle that forced Coach Steve to do the splits!

Justin Conner air mailed three fly balls to the outfield. He cleared the bases with his final hit, driving in four big runs for the Blue Jays!

Ethan Yu worked hard at the plate, fouling several pitches left of the 3rd base line. When he straightened them out, he pounded solid shots to the left side of the infield.

Jeremy Robertson had many reasons to smile during Sunday's game. Here, Jeremy sprints toward home to score another run for the Blue Jays. Jeremy needed few pitches to collect three great hits.

Braden Poon crushed the ball in the game with the Giants. His line drive double to right field in the third inning was one of the Blue Jays' best offensive highlights.

George Roggie attacked the ball in each of his three trips to the plate. George hit singles to center field and right field and scored three runs for the Blue Jays.

Jake Schuman's terrific hits allowed his teammates to score. Jake hit a double to right field in the second inning that really got the crowd excited!

Suzanne Pearl spent a lot of time running the bases in Sunday's game. Why? Because she hit safely in each at-bat. Suzanne's three singles through the middle of the infield were things of beauty!

The very determined Sam Berman was a hitting fiend for the Blue Jays. Sam stroked line drives just like he did in Saturday's practice. Sam's blasts generated even more runs for the Blue Jays.

Here, Ava Curley scores yet another run for the Blue Jays. Ava made great contact, spraying solid singles in different directions in her three at-bats!

Let's Shake!

Afterward, the Blue Jays demonstrated great sportsmanship. Above, they shake hands and congratulate the Giants for a terrific game. Great job, Blue Jays!

Many Thanks

Nothing draws a crowd like postgame snacks. Thanks to Mark and Sharon Amorosi, William's parents, for treating the team after the game!

The handsome gentleman above is Chris Robertson, Jeremy's dad. Chris did an outstanding job catching all three innings for the Blue Jays. Thanks, Chris!

Unfortunately, we do not have a photograph of Thomas Yu, Ethan's dad. Thomas did a terrific job coaching 1st base. Thank you, Thomas!

Great Game, Blue Jays! We can't wait to see you all at practice next Saturday!

Coach Steve
