October 6-8 Weekend Preview

The Blue Jays hope to continue their hot streak this week!  The forecast looks good for practice on Friday.  The Game Day Forecast could use some improvement.

Practice

Friday, October 6
Avenel Local Park
5:30 until 6:30 p.m.

Practice Plan

We will work primarily on defense during practice.  Be ready for lots of thinking, catching, and throwing!  We might stay late to provide batting practice to those who want to take some swings.

As the kids move forward in baseball, team practices will tend to be dominated by fielding work because it involves everyone playing at the same time.  Most players take batting practice on their own because it requires a maximum of two people - and because everybody else has to be doing something while one batter takes his or her swings.  Soon, these kids will be ready to go to the batting cages, where you don't even need a pitcher!

Game

Sunday, October 8
Blue Jays vs. Phillies
Tilden Middle School
Arrive 2:45 p.m.

We've never had a season without a rain postponement.  We're still holding out hope that Fall 2017 will be the first.  Let's have a great practice on Friday and see what awaits on Sunday!
