At long last... Opening Weekend!


It's show time!

The Blue Jays enter the exciting world of kid-pitch baseball this weekend with their first official practice and game.

The schedules, practice plans, and coaches and volunteers are listed below.

Practice

Saturday, April 6
5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Ayrlawn Park

Take a look at the practice plan below.  As you can see, every minute counts!

Practice Plan
  • 5:00-5:10 Long toss 60 feet
  • 5:10-5:20 Base-to-base with slap tags
  • 5:20-5:30 Ground ball 6-4-3, 4-6-3, 5-4-3
  • 5:30-6:00 Stations #1 (P,C,IF) #2 (fly balls & cut-off man)
  • 6:00-6:20 Call it out!
  • 6:20-7:00 Game simulation with kid pitchers and catchers
  • 7:00 Uniform distribution and optional batting practice
Season Opening Game

Sunday, April 7
Blue Jays vs. Nationals
Arrive 2:30 p.m.
Fleming Park

Players should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to game time.  We will warm up at 2:30 and be ready to play at 3:00 p.m.

In addition, we will need parents to help the catcher put on the gear before each inning.  We might also ask you to help the pitchers warm up.
