May 4-6 Weekend Preview



The Blue Jays hope to have an opportunity to play the Phillies this week.  The forecast for practice on Friday looks good.  Weather predictions for the rest of the weekend are not promising.

Friday, May 4
Avenel Local Park
5:30 until 7:00 p.m.


Practice Plan

5:30-5:50
  • Throw and catch pairs at 20, 30, 40 and 50 feet
5:50-5:55
  • Review team goal - at least 9 outs per game
  • 13 outs last week - way to go!  Now let's get even more!
5:55-6:15 - Throw and Catch Stations
  • Advanced: around-the-horn in the infield (Delgado)
  • Developing: one-to-one drills in outfield (Roggie)
6:15-7:00 - Scrimmage - Taking the next steps
  • Three strikes, you're out
  • Each half inning ends with 3 outs or 5 runs, whichever comes first!

This weekend is the fulcrum of the spring season.  The first half has been great!  Let's make the second half even better!
