Get ready for Player Photos and Stats!

Final photos and stats will be posted soon.  Until then, feel free to chew on the final team statistics below.
  • 6 games
  • .510 batting average*
  • .636 on base
  • .703 slugging
  • .814 balls in play
  • 18 extra base hits
  • 68 runs
  • 67 RBIs
  • 19 assisted put-outs (x2 = 38 credited)
  • 21 unassisted put-outs
  • 1.16 runs allowed per inning** pitched (33.2 innings)
  • 2.44 WHIP
*Because the team batting average  (.510) was skewed by the top two individual averages, only three players had averages that were better than that of the entire team; the median individual batting average was .462

**For statistical purposes, an "inning" is defined as three outs.  This is an important distinction due to the 5-run per inning limit.  Statistically, runs scored have no bearing on innings.  For example, a pitcher who gives up five runs and records just one out will have given up 15.00 runs per inning.

Notes and Accomplishments

Yes, the Blue Jays really did play that well this season!  Fun facts are below.
  • Blue Jays scored 11.50 runs per game
  • Opponents scored 6.67 runs per game
But the scores do not begin to tell the real story.  The impact of the 5-run rule is nearly impossible to overstate.
  • Blue Jays reached the 5-run limit in eleven offensive frames (35.4% of all)
  • Opponents reached the 5-run limit in one offensive frame (2.9%)
Therefore...
  • Blue Jays completed 101 outs defensively
  • Opponents completed 75 outs defensively*
*Due to the 5-run rule and not needing the final at bat in any home game, the Blue Jays operated at a 1.45 inning per game handicap for the season.

Blue Jays batters were incredible!
  • Blue Jays' batting average = .510
  • Opponents' batting average = .235
So, too, were Blue Jays pitchers!
  • Blue Jays pitchers struck out 61 opposing batters or 10.17 per game
  • Opposing pitchers struck out 27 Blue Jays or 4.50 per game
All in all, this team might have been even better than we realized!
