Blue Jays & Brothers practice in the Mist

Two brothers helped four Blue Jays overcome misty conditions to have a great practice Saturday, May 14 at Westbrook Elementary School.

Landon Poon (top) and Josef Robertson (left) joined Jeremy Robertson, Braden Poon, George Roggie and Sam Berman to have fun and prepare for Sunday's game with the Baseball Factory.

May 14 Practice Report

Sam Berman continued to make good contact at the plate. He fouled off a lot of pitches from the Blue Flame machine and smacked several hits up the middle of the field.

Sam also demonstrated a good eye in the batter's box, swinging only at pitches that were in the strike zone.

In the action photo above, Sam hauls in another catch during the pop-fly drill. Sam contributed generously to the team's 17 catches that ended practice.

Sam is ready to produce in the game with the Baseball Factory!

George Roggie was another significant contributor during the pop-up drill. George also made a great stop on a well hit ground ball during batting practice. His diving catch of a line drive at 1st base was one of the highlights of the afternoon.

Once again, George hit the ball very well during Saturday's practice. He hit some infield pop-ups as well as line drives to left field and center field.

George is ready to go!

Jeremy Robertson is one of the Blue Jays' most improved hitters this season. Ever since he tried out the Blue Flame pitching machine, Jeremy has been smashing line drives to left field in practices and games!

He really hauled the mail again in this week's practice. Jeremy's line drive to deep left field was one of the team's more explosive hits of the year!

Jeremy's big hits gave him lots of opportunities to run the bases. He did a great job remembering to tag up on fly balls.

Jeremy also added two big catches during the pop-fly drill!

Braden Poon played well in the field before he developed some soreness in his ankle that forced him to take a seat during batting practice.

The good news is that this is not the ankle that gave Braden trouble for the last few months.

We hope that Braden feels better soon so that he can join us on the field!

Fortunately, Landon Poon, Braden's older brother, was able to join in the fun. He took some good hacks and delivered line drives and scorching grounders to left field.

Landon proved to be a great addition to the team during the pop-fly drill. He did a great job moving his feet, getting directly under the ball, and making catch after catch.

Landon set a great example for the Blue Jays!

Flawless Fielders

Torsdon Poon did a fabulous job shagging balls during batting practice. Torsdon played shortstop, 3rd base, 2nd base, left field and center field all at the same time!

Steve Berman was equally impressive. He played 1st base, 2nd base, right field and center field all at the same time!

Steve handled everything that came his way with the exception of two really bad throws that the coach tossed into right field.

Sorry about that, Steve!

Game On!

Great practice, Blue Jays!

Hopefully, we'll get lucky with the weather again Sunday so that we can play our game with the Baseball Factory.

Go Blue Jays!

Coach Steve
